🏄‍♂️ Historic Bronze for Ramesh Budihal at Asian Surfing Championships 2025

Indian surfer Ramesh Budihal has created history by clinching a bronze medal in the Open Men’s event at the Asian Surfing Championships 2025, held in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu.

Budihal scored 12.60 points in the intense four-man final, becoming the first-ever individual Indian surfer to win a medal at this prestigious continental tournament.

His road to the podium was remarkable — he topped his quarterfinal with 14.84 points, secured second place in the semifinals with 11.43 points, and then battled fiercely in the final to secure bronze.

This achievement is even more inspiring considering his personal struggles last year, when he lost his father and failed to qualify for the championships. His comeback showcases not just skill, but unmatched determination and resilience.

With this win, Ramesh Budihal has placed Indian surfing firmly on the Asian map, inspiring a new generation of athletes to take on the waves.
