Pakistan & Oman Pull Out of Hockey Asia Cup 2025, Bangladesh and Kazakhstan Step In

The upcoming Men’s Hockey Asia Cup 2025 has taken an unexpected twist as Pakistan and Oman have officially withdrawn from the tournament. Pakistan cited security concerns despite assurances from Indian authorities, while Oman opted out reportedly due to logistical and financial challenges.

To keep the event on track, the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) has confirmed Bangladesh and Kazakhstan as replacements. Bangladesh will take Pakistan’s spot, while Kazakhstan fills in for Oman.

The tournament will be hosted in Rajgir, Bihar, India, from August 29 to September 7, 2025. The eight teams are now: India, Japan, China, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, South Korea, Bangladesh, and Chinese Taipei.

The pools have been restructured as follows:

Pool A: India, Japan, China, Kazakhstan

Pool B: Malaysia, South Korea, Bangladesh, Chinese Taipei

Despite the withdrawals, excitement remains high as the tournament promises intense battles and serves as a key qualifier pathway for the global stage. With India hosting, fans are gearing up for world-class hockey action right in the heart of Bihar.
